Aiken Standard hosting Senior Health and Life Expo

Jan. 26—The Aiken Standard is hosting a free Senior Health & Life Expo on March 9. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about estate planning, wills, trusts, fall prevention, preventive health, choosing a retirement community, health screenings and more.

"The Senior Health & Life Expo is a great way to find out information about products and services offered to seniors in Aiken County and surrounding areas," said Diane Daniell, advertising operations manager for the Aiken Standard. "At the expo, seniors can speak with representatives about specific services, have their blood pressure measured and receive literature on health and safety topics and more."

The 45-minute seminars will be led by Zack Molton of Ronnie Maxwell Law Offices, Dr. Christine DeStephan Mills who specializes in structural and interventional cardiology and Dr. Jesus Castillo who works in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

Daniell said attendees will be able to visit a variety of booths and speak with the representatives, socialize with other seniors and try to win some door prizes.

"Caregivers can also benefit greatly from senior expo events," Daniell said. "Caregivers may not know all the services that are available, so it's beneficial for those who are caring for seniors as they navigate the aging process. You can be surprised what services are out there."

Pre-registration is required. To register call Emilee Goodwin at 803-644-2376 or email egoodwin@aikenstandard.com.

Businesses that would like a booth can call Daniell at 803-644-2369.

The presenting sponsor for the event is Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St. N.W.
