Aiken County public schools will allow students to return early from quarantine following negative test

Sep. 19—The Aiken County Public School District announced they will allow quarantined students without symptoms to return to school early, with conditions.

Student will be allowed to return to school on day eight of quarantine if a negative PCR or antigen test is collected no sooner than day five of quarantine.

"Students returning early from quarantine are required to correctly and consistently wear a mask through day 14 and continue daily symptom monitoring," the school district said in a release.

Parents of students who are currently quarantined who would like them to return earlier will need to contact their school directly to establish a return date.

"Students may return to the classroom and full athletic participation as long as they are masked through day 14," they said.

Three quarantine options are now available to both students and staff:

—Return on day eight after completing seven days of quarantine with no symptoms and with documentation of a negative PCR or antigen test collected no sooner than day five.

—Return on day 11 after completing 10 days of quarantine with no symptoms and no testing required.

—Return on day 15 after completing the standard 14-day quarantine with no symptoms.
