Adrian College wrestlers make quick work of Defiance again

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Adrian College men's wrestling team traveled to Defiance College Tuesday evening to take on the Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs defeated Defiance 56-0 last season to set a program record. Adrian picked up where it left off this season with another lopsided shutout 54-0.

Zachary Phifer won by forfeit to begin the night and give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. It took Tyler Davis 57 seconds to pin his opponent which gave Adrian a 12-0 lead. Sam Ross won by major decision at 141 to lead 16-0 before another pin by Zachary Platte. Trent Rector won by decision in a 17-14 battle at 157.

Zach Altman got a pin at 165 and Derick Duval won by a technical fall. Blake WIlliams, Dylan Wellbaum and Kyle Emery all added wins by fall.

Adrian College goes on the road Saturday at Ohio Northern for a tournament.
