Then look no further because in this episode of Make Me Up, host Melanie Sutrathada (@melaniesutra) is demonstrating how to achieve a dramatic blush look with just a few simple products. These buildable blushes are perfect for creating a subtle everyday look or creating a dramatic look for when you’re ready to be the center of attention.
Melanie starts by using Cloud Paint by Glossier to create a natural-looking base. “This is one of my favorite ways to add a little bit of blush to your face and have it still look really natural,” Melanie explains as she applies the Cloud Paint. “What’s phenomenal about Glossier is that your skin looks so lit from within. You’re going to be beaming and glowing, like just a whole goddess like you just came from a vacation.”
Just a tiny bit of Cloud Paint will have your skin absolutely glowing, according to Melanie. “This is one of my favorite shades called Puff,” Melanie says, using her ring finger to gently apply the blush. “I’m using just the teensiest little dot but it’s going to be glowing and beautiful.”
Once she has her base applied, Melanie adds a bit more Cloud Paint to amp up the drama! “So right now we’ve got a very glowy, dewy look, and I want to go ahead and amp this up because your girl is extra,” Melanie says as she applies more Cloud Paint along her cheekbones.
With the Cloud Paint applied, Melanie selects a powder blush from NARS to finish the look. “I want to go a little over-the-top with one of my favorite blush products from the one and only NARS,” she explains, using an angled brush to apply the makeup. “What we’re gonna do is we’re going to go in a little C shape, so around your brow bone down to your cheek. Right where you would normally put highlighter is where you want to go.”
Melanie explains that NARS blush is great for combining with other blushes to create a colorful, bold look. “This buildable pigment really allows you to bump up the volume and really make your color so fun and vibrant,” she explains as she finishes applying the makeup.
With her look complete, Melanie is now ready to paint the town red! With just a few simple products and only a few minutes, Melanie created an upscale makeup look that’s totally glamorous.
