Adam Thielen makes toe-drag touchdown, then heads to injury tent

The Minnesota Vikings are trying to extend their modest two-game win streak to three games on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions scored first in the game, on a 16-yard Marvin Jones touchdown, but Minnesota quickly answered. A five-play, 73-yard drive was capped by a pretty 25-yard touchdown from Kirk Cousins to Adam Thielen.

Thielen had to stretch in the back of the end zone to make the play, but dragged his right toes inbounds to complete the catch, then slid into some padding just beyond the end zone. Thielen limped off the field and immediately went to the sideline medical tent. The Vikings announced that he’s questionable to return to the game with a hamstring injury.

Minnesota downgraded Thielen to out in the second half.

It was the fourth touchdown in the past three games for Thielen, who criticized — and then blamed reporters for properly reporting his words — Cousins after the Vikings’ Week 4 loss to Chicago. Since that game against the Bears, when Thielen had two catches for 6 yards, he has been getting the ball more.
