NEW YORK — Adam Gase isn’t ready to take back play-calling duties just yet.

Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains will be the team’s play caller for a second consecutive week when the Jets travel to face the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs on Sunday.

Loggains gave the struggling Jets offense a jolt early last week before it disappeared again.

The Jets scored 10 points and reached the red zone on their first three possessions against the Bills before going into a deep freeze. The Jets managed just 25 net yards on their final 22 plays, including four in the second half.

Gase admitted he gave Loggains some suggestions while the offense was stuck in the mud in the second half. He also pointed the finger at his players (again) for the second-half funk.

“Between series I would (say) maybe just a couple things (like), ‘Hey, these two things could free somebody up,’ or, ‘These two things could help us protection wise,’ ” Gase said. “I wasn’t trying to overload. Those guys were doing a good job communicating as an offensive staff. They were talking through stuff. There were some plays that we had opportunities on we didn’t necessarily execute. So, it wasn’t really the play call in those situations. It was the right play call. We’ve just got to finish the play differently.

“That’s why I was trying to stick to what we were doing instead of just being like, ‘Oh, call this,” Gase continued. “I didn’t feel like it was a play-call thing that was going on why we didn’t have success. We have to still execute whatever is called.”

Sam Darnold & Co. finished with a season-low 190 yards to fall to 0-7. The NFL’s only winless team has the worst offense in football. The Jets rank 32nd in scoring, total yards, passing, yards per play, first downs, third-down conversion rate, red zone efficiency, touchdowns, punts per play, first downs per play and yards per point margin points per play margin. They’re 30th in time of possession and 23rd in rushing.

Meanwhile, Gase maintains that he wants to continue with a more hands-on approach.

“I do think there’s going to be things that I’ll notice throughout this process,” Gase said. “I just don’t think it’s a one-week thing. I don’t even really think saying, ‘Hey, there was one week, now we’ll change it back to what we were doing.’ I think I’ve got to see this play out a little bit where other things will pop up. There might be some other things that I noticed that maybe I could get fixed that will help us do things better in the long run.”
