Adam Brody not interested in returning for an 'O.C' reboot — and apparently neither is Ben McKenzie

Reboots are all the rage right now, but that especially applies to fan favorite television shows from the '90s and '00s. Recently, we've seen shows like Beverly Hills 90210, Gilmore Girls, Full House and Veronica Mars all return, and we're sure we're forgetting some others.

So naturally you have to wonder if the next one will be The O.C. — the teen soap set in Southern California’s wealthy 'burbs that aired on Fox from 2003 to 2007 and made stars out of folks like Adam Brody, Rachel Bilson, Mischa Barton and Ben McKenzie.

"Do you know what I dream about when I dream about Thanksgiving, which is often? I dream about eating so much deliciousness that all the blood rushes to my stomach and I pass out at the table. Please don't deny me that." — Seth Cohen

Barton has already said she'd be interested — odd since (spoiler alert!) her character, Marissa, died in the third season. Brody, however, who joined us for a BUILD Series interview in New York this week while promoting his new film Ready or Not, isn’t interested in returning to play lovable geekster Seth Cohen in a possible reboot (watch above). And apparently neither is one of his closest co-stars.

"I would imagine at some point they will use the property to do in some way, and I'm all for [it]. I don't mind these reboots or even remakes," said Brody, who had his own mini-reunion with O.C. costar Bilson when he ran into her at JFK Airport not long after this interview.

"All that said, I'm not gonna be [involved]. I don't have any interest in revisiting my high school character. And frankly speaking for Ben McKenzie, I know he doesn't either."

Brody reminded us it's all hypothetical at this point, anyway.

"I know it's silly. How dare I turn down fake work? But creatively, I'm not that interested."
