Acting Ensemble holds staged reading of local playwright's ‘No Place’

MISHAWAKA — The Acting Ensemble presents a staged reading of “No Place” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at 602 E. Mishawaka Ave., as the first event in its Poets and Playwrights series.

Written by local playwright Dar Hampton, “No Place” is a story about ghosts, forgiveness, letting go and finally getting what you’ve always wanted. Other subjects include suicide, suicide ideation, eating disorders, sexual assault, abuse, mental health and hospitalization.

Angie Berkshire directs. The cast features Andi Creasbaum, Tyler Marcotte, Sarah Myers, Dani Mazick, Geoff Trowbridge, Michael Stamets, Louis Arata, Liz Szalay, Darlene Hampton, Michael Clarkson and Emily Clarkson.

The Poets and Playwrights series serves to workshop a reading of a completed play, poetry and maybe even new music — all original and all local.
