Abilene High fights off Weatherford, Aledo in home tennis matches

Abilene High beat Weatherford 17-2 and Aledo 13-6 in a pair of nondistrict tennis matches Monday at the AHS tennis courts.

“These kids seem to get better with each match,” AHS coach Stacy Bryan said. “I thought our intensity was the best it has been. We have talked a lot about high energy, and we continue to get better. We start school on Wednesday, so that will be the first day we have regular practice, and I am looking forward to that. We want to keep improving.”

AHS (9-1), ranked No. 17 in the latest Texas Tennis Coaches Association Class 5A state poll, plays Midland Legacy and Midland High in a pair of nondistrict matches on Saturday in Midland.
