Abilene Cooper girls slip past Midland High in basketball

Jazlyn Hatcher, Ashlynn French and Karrigan Parrott combined for 21 points as Cooper fended off Midland High 32-28 in a nondistrict girls basketball game in Midland.

Hatcher led the Lady Cougars (7-4) with eight points. French had seven, and Parrott had six.

Noemi Arciga led Midland High (4-7) with a game-high 11 points.

The Lady Coogs led just 17-16 going into the final quarter, but outscored the Lady Bulldogs 15-12 in the final frame.

Cooper plays Glen Rose on Dec. 14 in a nondistrict game at Cougar Gym.
