5K people dip into bay for Polar Bear Plunge 2023

Thousands of people braved the cold Saturday and plunged into the chilly waters of the Chesapeake Bay for the 2023 Polar Bear Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland. The cold weather didn't stop a faithful 5,000 people from plunging It's the mission of Special Olympics Maryland that inspires each plunger to step up. The organization provides sports programs to more than 4,000 athletes for free. Donations and fundraising from thousands of people at the plunge helps them keep their programs alive.
