5 United Family team members recognized by Progressive Grocer as Top Women in Grocery for 2020, 2021

On Tuesday, The United Family celebrated five team members who were recognized by Progressive Grocer as Top Women in Grocery for 2020 and 2021. Honorees from The United Family include Kora Rush, Mandy Tomlin, Kami Golightly, Robin Cash and Rebekah Bernal.

The Top Women in Grocery award program was developed by Progressive Grocer to recognize the integral role women play across all segments of the North American food retail and grocery industries.

In 2021, more than 1,000 nominations for these awards were sent in for consideration and a judging panel narrowed the group down to just a few hundred. The awards are split into three categories: Senior-Level Executive, Rising Stars and Store Managers.

As the 2020 recipients, Rush was recognized in the Rising Star category while Tomlin was recognized in the Senior-Level Executive category. As the 2021 recipients, Golightly and Cash were both recognized in the Rising Star category while Bernal was recognized in the Store Managers category.

“We are so proud of all five of these terrific leaders for their accomplishments and the way they represent our company on a daily basis,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “These five ladies have had incredible success in our industry and this recognition is a testament to that. They are phenomenal leaders and we are lucky to have them on our team.”

Established in 1922, Progressive Grocer follows the retail food industry closely by reporting the industry’s top trends and information. The publication created the Top Women in Grocery recognition program 15 years ago to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the thousands of women at all levels of the grocery industry.

Recipients: Mandy Tomlin, CFO; Kora Rush, Director of Supply Chain; Kami Golightly, HR Business Manager; Robin Cash, Manager of Loyalty and Personalization; & Rebekah Bernal, Store Director of Amigos in Plainview.
