The Pacers dealt a trio of players to Sacramento in a trade Tuesday, sending Domas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday and a second-round pick to the Kings for Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson.
Here are five things to know about Haliburton, a 6-5 guard from Wisconsin.

Tyrese Haliburton is a rising star
Haliburton is averaging 14.3 points in 51 games (all starts) this season, shooting 45.7% from the floor and 41.3% from behind the arc (104-252). He is averaging a team-high 7.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. He had a team-record 17 assists in a win over the Thunder earlier this month. His scoring average would rank second on the Pacers roster behind Malcolm Brogdon, and he would lead the team in assists.
He was named to the Rising Stars Challenge in January.
Last season, his first in the league, he averaged 13 points (47% shooting) and 5.3 assists in 58 games. He finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting.
Haliburton made an impact in short time at Iowa State
Haliburton started 34 of his 35 games as a freshman at Iowa State, averaging 6.8 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.5 ranked second in Division I. He averaged 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals in 22 games as a sophomore, but a wrist injury on Feb. 8 cut his season short. After the season, he declared for the NBA Draft. The Kings took him 12th overall in 2020.

Haliburton was a high school star in Wisconsin
As a high school senior, Haliburton averaged 22.9 points, 6.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. He led Oshkosh North (Wisconsin) to a 26-1 record and its first state title in program history. He scored 31 points in the title game and hit all 18 of his free-throw attempts. He was named the Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year.
Haliburton's cousin was an NBA All-Star
Haliburton's cousin is Eddie Jones, who was a three-time All-Star in 14 seasons with the Heat, Lakers, Grizzlies, Hornets and Mavericks.
Haliburton has a sense of humor on Twitter
The 21 year-old entered the league's health and safety protocols in January. When he was ready to return, he broke the news himself.
