5 things going on in Albuquerque this week

Feb. 5—From hoops to a mid-week show, here's what's happening in the Albuquerque next week.

CIVICS REFRESHER: The Albuquerque city council will discuss a proposal to replace the Transit Department's current "zero fare" bus service. The iteration now up for vote appropriates more money for transit security and postpones a decision on whether to continue with zero fares until later this year. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. Monday.

STORYTIME: The Albuquerque Public Library is holding a Family Storytime event geared toward preschool- and kindergarten-age children on Tuesday at the Alamosa Library near the South Valley. The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Families can attend and "enjoy stories and songs while developing early literacy," according to the library's website.

WATCH THE LOBOS: It's a wolf-versus-wolf matchup this week at the Pit. The University of New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team is playing the Nevada Wolf Pack on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The Lobos have a 19-5 record this season, while the Wolf Pack stands at 18-6.
