Has $4 per gallon gas changed how you commute and shop, or are you absorbing the cost?

Coloradoan Conversations is the Coloradoan's opinion forum. Each Friday we'll pose two conversation-starting questions online at Coloradoan.com/opinion and moderate online discussion through the following Wednesday, recapping the best discussion points online the following Friday and in Sunday's printed edition.

This week's Coloradoan Conversation Starter:

The average price of a gallon of gas has crested $4 across the United States with experts predicting it could climb past $5 later this year. You know some of the factors: Bans on Russian oil exports, local, state and federal energy policies meant to enhance renewables and transition away from fossil fuels to battle climate change.

But with experts predicting price de-escalation to be slow even if bans on Russian gas are lifted and domestic oil production increased, we could be in for pain at the pump for the long haul. So, are you doing anything different to save money in the short and long term? Considering a more fuel-efficient vehicle or carpooling? Or are you just enduring one expensive fuel-up at a time?
