30-year-old Appleton man charged in Manitowoc County with child sex crimes

MANITOWOC - A 30-year-old Appleton man has been charged with child enticement and using a computer to facilitate a sex crime.

A police investigation found Grant N. Stamper was using a social media app to seek out a sexual relationship. Officers posing as a 15-year-old Manitowoc girl connected with Stamper, who agreed to meet for the purpose of sexual activity, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office.

Police said Stamper traveled to Manitowoc County for the arranged meeting, where he was arrested.

Stamper was released from custody Wednesday on $1,000 cash bail. His initial court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday.
