Kylon Griffin, a three-star defensive back from Montgomery Catholic, announced his commitment to Clemson football on Tuesday morning.

Griffin previously committed to Mississippi State in March 2021 but decommitted in December. Clemson offered him a scholarship Jan. 4, and shortly thereafter he announced a final three consisting of Clemson, Nebraska and USC.

Griffin visited Nebraska the weekend of Jan. 16 and was on Clemson's campus last weekend.

In Griffin, Clemson picks up the No. 985 national recruit, per 247Sports, as well as the No. 79 safety and No. 41 overall player in Alabama.

As a senior, Griffin helped lead a Catholic defense that gave up just three points per game. He recorded 44 tackles and five interceptions as well as six pass breakups, five tackles for loss and four touchdowns on defense and special teams.

Griffin was named a Montgomery Advertiser All-Metro selection for a second straight year, as well as second-team Class 3A All-State.
