UPDATE: 3 injured in crash involving wrong-way driver in Huber Heights

UPDATE @ 9:53 a.m.:

Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Huber Heights Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the area of Interstate 70 Alternate, State Route 235 and State Route 4 around 3 a.m. to reports of a crash involving two cars, according to initial reports.

One of the vehicles involved was a wrong-way driver, a spokesperson for Huber Heights Police said Monday. The driver of the at-fault vehicle, a Hyundai sedan, was traveling northbound on State Route 4 in the southbound lanes.

Three people were taken from the scene by Huber Heights and Bethel Clark medics to Miami Valley Hospital. The drivers suffered serious injuries and the passenger of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to police.

Pictures from the scene shows one car in the median with heavy damage to the front left of the car and another car in the middle of the roadway with heavy damage to the right front side.

The Huber Heights Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene to investigate the crash.
