21-year-old jogger killed in hit-and-run, Utah cops say. ‘One of the sweetest souls’

A 21-year-old jogger was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Utah, according to media reports.

Isabelle Parr was struck in Provo in the evening on Thursday, Dec. 1, according to a news release from the Provo Police Department. The driver left without stopping.

Our hearts are so crushed by all of this,” a family member wrote on Facebook, pleading for anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward.

On Friday, family members, including Parr’s cousin Lizzie Bettinson, came to lay flowers near where Parr was hit, KUTV reported.

“She was always just so happy,” Bettinson told the outlet. “I never once saw her angry or sad or mad or anything.”

A GoFundMe created for Parr’s family described her as a “light to all those she came into contact with.”

Others also remembered Parr’s kind nature.

“She was literally one of the sweetest souls I have ever encountered and this is a massive loss,” a friend wrote on Facebook.

Madeleine Ewell, one of Parr’s coworkers, told FOX 13 News that “no one can say a bad thing about her.”

“I just feel like she was an angel. I mean, she is one now, she just had such a positive impact on everybody that she’s met,” Ewell told the outlet.

Provo police said “detectives are working to identify the vehicle involved,” according to a Facebook post from the department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 801-852-6385 or by email at csmith@provo.org.
