  • Land Rover announces that top-trim SV and P440e Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) models join the 2023 Range Rover lineup.

  • The Range Rover Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid features 48 miles worth of electric-only range and starts at $106,250.

  • The long-wheelbase Range Rover SV tops the model line and will set you back $212,550.

Land Rover gave a preview of its revised Range Rover lineup late last year, and this week the automaker released specs and opened the order books for the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover SV and plug-in hybrid models.

Land Rover says the aptly named Range Rover P440e Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid uses the corporate 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 matched with a plug-in hybrid system to help squeeze out slightly better fuel economy and provide up to 48 miles of electric-only range. The PHEV won’t cheap, however; getting that battery boost will set you back at least $106,250, before taxes and fees.

Still, the PHEV Range Rover would make for a nice compromise for those luxury SUV buyers curious about EV performance but who are yet hesitant to make the leap to full electric-only propulsion. Land Rover will debut its first EV in 2024, and is shooting to have its entire lineup be purely electric by the end of the decade.

Topping the model line is the SV trim, which can be ordered in either standard- or long-wheelbase configurations, either version relying on a 523-hp twin-turbo V8 for power. The new V8 produces 37 lb-ft more torque than the previous 5.0-liter supercharged V8. The short-wheelbase Range Rover SV starts at $188,200, whereby going with the long-wheelbase variant cranks the price up to $212,550—a sum that could net you two base-model plug-in Range Rovers.

Land Rover says you can order these machines today, with deliveries expected later this year.
