The 2021 Orange Bowl is set to feature a matchup between historic SEC and Big 10 opponents.
No. 2 Michigan (12-1) will face No. 3 Georgia (12-1) in the College Football Playoff semifinal on New Year's Eve in Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
The matchup was announced Sunday on ESPN's College Football Playoff Selection Show.

No. 1 Alabama (12-1) will face No. 4 Cincinnati (13-0) in opposing semifinal, hosted in Arlington, Texas at the 2021 Cotton Bowl Classic.
Georgia fell to No. 3 in the final CFP Playoff rankings after a crushing loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship on Saturday. The Bulldogs had No. 1 for much of the 2021 regular season prior to the loss.
Michigan held steady at No. 2 in the rankings after blowing out Iowa in the Big 10 Championship Game on Saturday night. Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines won the Big 10 title for the first time since 2004.
Georgia and Michigan last played in 1963 with Vince Dooley's Bulldogs prevailing 15-7. Early betting lines list Georgia as a 7-point favorite.
