Internet blown away by man’s ‘life-changing’ egg-cracking hack: ‘My jaw dropped’

A TikTok user is going viral after sharing his “life-changing” method for cracking open hard-boiled eggs.

The user, Zach Crean, originally shared the video of his hack for “egg lovers” in April, where it’s since been viewed more than 900,000 times.

Crean’s simple, uber-quick method begins with just three steps. First, you tap the boiled egg’s pointier side onto a hard surface, creating a tiny crack. Then you do the same on the wider side, creating a slightly larger crack.

Finally, you put your mouth up to the smaller hole, and blow. According to Crean, the shell will fly off — almost like a magic trick.

TikTok users seemed beyond impressed by the tactic, with thousands of commenters praising his “impressive” hack and comparing it to witchcraft.

“My jaw DROPPED this is a game changer,” one user wrote.

“I don’t think society is ready for this as a whole,” another added.

Crean was also quick to add a warning for his followers, noting that they should only try the method if they’re going to eat the egg themselves.

“Alright since everyone is sayin it, obviously only do this if YOU are the one eating the egg, don’t be blowin eggs and givin them out to people,” he commented on the video.

As for the hack itself, some users were skeptical. It turns out the egg-blowing concept has gone viral several times over the years, with some at-home adopters sharing mixed results. Even the hosts of the “Today” show tried it earlier this year.

“While the blowing method might be flashy, Al’s [Roker’s] favorite method for peeling hard-boiled eggs is both reliable and sanitary,” the program wrote of its weatherman’s cooking preferences.

However, for those who were willing to give it a try, Crean shared a follow-up video with a more in-depth breakdown of his process.
