There’s truthfully never been a bad time to discuss the classic film “Princess Diaries.”

Star Anne Hathaway reflected on one of the most iconic scenes in the movie — and revealed it wasn’t scripted.

In the ABC special “The Happy Days Of Garry Marshall,” Hathaway and other actors who starred in the late director’s movies celebrated his eye for beautiful moments.

Hathaway said that just before filming a scene on the bleachers in San Francisco, it rained.

“We were losing light and we had to go on these bleachers and they did their best to wipe them down,” she said.

While the cameras were rolling, Hathaway’s Mia Thermopolis strolled up and down the bleachers talking to her friend.

She turned around too fast, slipped in a puddle, fell down and burst out laughing.

Instead of demanding a reshoot, Marshall thought the fall was a “charming moment” and insisted it stay in the film.

“One of the things that I love about Garry is that he was never afraid of the spontaneous moment,” Hathaway said. “If it was good, it was in the movie. He didn’t care where it came from, he didn’t care what happened.”

Thank goodness Marshall had such an eye for serendipitous moments — what would we do without the relatable, clumsy princess of Genovia?
