In case you’re wondering, peptides work to smooth, repair and hydrate skin. They’re strings of amino acids, which make up proteins in our body, including collagen in the skin. As we age, especially over the age of 30, we start to lose collagen. By introducing peptides in the form of concentrates, serums or creams, it could help signal your skin to boost its collagen production.

“Your body sees these peptides as ‘signals’ that you need to heal, which tells your body to produce more collagen where you need it most,” Dr. Whitney Bowe, New York City-based dermatologist and author, said in a blog post for Dermstore. She compared it to when the body self-heals after an injury: Peptides are what helps your body to repair itself.

Not all peptides are the same, though. Neurotransmitter peptides, like those in the Un-Wrinkle Eye concentrate, can help firm the skin and potentially smooth expression lines by inhibiting nerve signals that produce muscle movement. Some may say it’s like “topical Botox.”

In a four-week consumer efficacy study conducted by Peter Thomas Roth on 32 women, ages 25 to 60 years old, 91 percent of respondents said that the Un-Wrinkle Eye concentrate left their skin looking soft and smooth. The study also reported that 86 percent of the women said the product helped their skin feel tighter, and 83 percent said it helped reveal younger, more radiant-looking skin.

Peter Thomas Roth’s Un-Wrinkle Eye concentrate is also ophthalmologist-tested and approved, and won’t irritate sensitive eyes or contact lens wearers, according to the product description.

To apply, pump halfway to dispense just enough product, then pat it around and under the eye area. The brand recommends using it twice daily for 28 days to see initial results, and then continuing to use for best results.

Of the Un-Wrinkle Eye Concentrate, one Dermstore reviewer said, “I applied this serum religiously twice a day for more than half a year and I definitely see the difference. I will repurchase it for the rest of my life even though it’s quite expensive (totally worth it).”

Normally, the regular 0.5-ounce bottle is $100, while the supersize, a 1-ounce bottle, is $200. However, for a limited time while supplies last, the brand is selling the Super Size Un-Wrinkle Eye concentrate for only $40 — that’s $160 off.

Peter Thomas Roth launched his company in 1993 combining old Hungarian skincare philosophies from his heritage with 21st-century technology to create what the brand describes as “breakthrough formulas” with “astonishing results.” All of the brand’s products are sold on its website, however many are also sold by Sephora, Dermstore and select department stores.
