As we continue to give our high heels a break for the moment, slippers have become our No. 1 shoe of choice. From cozily walking around the house to running errands or just simply grabbing the mail, keeping your go-to slippers on deck is crucial.
The search for the perfect pair of slippers continues as most of us are abiding by the stay-at-home order. Ultimately, when it comes down to it, comfort is key.
Since we don’t currently have the option of trying on shoes IRL, we’ve decided to lean on customer reviews to give us the low down on which styles are actually comfortable and which ones … well, aren’t quite worth a purchase. After combing through the endless pages on DSW and carefully reviewing the customer feedback and star ratings, we’ve narrowed it down to the following seven styles.
We also filtered the price to keep it under $50, because unlike your fancy black booties that should stand the test of time, slippers are meant to be an affordable luxury. Your new favorite house shoe awaits!
Shop: Minnetonka JR. Trapper Moccasin Slipper, $36.99
With over 2,300 reviews and a 4.7-star rating, these cozy moccasins from Minnetonka are the highest-rated slippers on DSW. One reviewer admitted, she “decided to treat myself to a new pair of slippers during quarantine, since slippers seem to be my most popular footwear during this time. I am very happy with the quality off the Minnetonka slippers.” She also suggested that “if you’re in-between sizes though, definitely size up,” as they “seem to run short.”
Shop: Daniel Green Rave Scuff Slipper, $29.99
For under $30, these slip-ons feature a cushioned plush footbed to keep you cozy all day long. One shopper wrote, “I bought a second purchase of Daniel Green Rave II Scuff slippers as a backup. I am still wearing my first pair and it’s amazing how they hold up for months…” It’s important to keep in mind that these slippers don’t offer a ton of support as they are designed for indoor use only.
Shop: Dearfoams X-Band Slippers, $31.99
Thanks to its memory foam cushion, these faux fur-lined slippers can be worn indoors or outdoors. DSW shoppers are loving this pair because the exposed sandal prevents your feet from overheating. “These are so comfortable and soft! I like that they are sandals because my feet don’t get too hot when wearing them,” one customer said. Another wrote, “These are a must-have, especially during this time of ‘stay home.’ Literally the most comfortable slippers I’ve ever owned.”
Shop: Koolaburra by UGG Milo Scuff Slipper, $49.99 (Orig. $55)
This affordable version of UGG’s best-selling Coquette slippers come highly-recommended with a 4.5-star rating and over 450 reviews. The caveat? Shoppers say they wish there was “more padding on the bottom.” However, people love that these are a cheaper alternative to UGG: “I saw that these were made by Ugg but for a much lower price, so when I needed new slippers I bought them! They’re just as good as the Ugg slippers you’d find in a department store but for a much better price,” one reviewer explained.
Shop: Vionic Saddie Scuff Slipper, $39.98 (Orig. $49)
If you’re looking for a slipper that offers support, then this pair is for you. The downside is that shoppers say these are not as comfortable as other options on the market. “These slippers are not soft and cushy, they are just very supportive on your feet and especially your arches. They are also very warm,” one five-star review read.
Shop: Bearpaw Loki Scuff Slipper, $44.99
These under-$45 slippers are another great alternative to the pricey UGG slippers. However, due to the affordable price tag, reviews admit these are “not as great of quality as UGGs.” But that doesn’t stop shoppers from loving them! “I bought these slippers right before they sold out and I’m glad I did! They are super comfortable and remind me of the UGG slippers I have that are just like this. They are very warm too and have a lot of cushion for my feet. I love these slippers!” a satisfied customer wrote.
Shop: Deer Stags Slipperooz Nordic Scuff, $29.99
Aside from the price, the best feature about these slippers is that they offer a sole that’s durable enough to wear indoors and outdoors. After researching this shoe, we have yet to find a downside. One shopper even said, “the first night I wore them, I fell asleep in them.” Are they the most stylish? TBD, but looks aren’t everything when it comes down to being comfortable!”
