Completing each step in a thorough skincare routine can be therapeutic for many. In fact, it’s often considered a form of self-care.

This practice can range from just three steps to seven or eight — if you’re skincare-obsessed like me. And those whose routines lean on the lengthier end of the spectrum can attest that it can get a bit tiring at times.

With the majority of many routines often being committed to layering serums that treat different skin concerns — from vitamin c for brightening to hyaluronic acid for hydration — it’s always appreciated when a few steps can be safely combined.

Clean skincare brand Naturium has found a way to implement this strategy with its Super Serum cocktail, which features a blend of five of the most commonly used treatments in skincare.

Described as a “supercharged, multi-benefit” serum, this product was formulated with a blend of active ingredients including Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid. With the combined benefits of each of these components, the product is said to “help brighten, smooth, firm and target the look of fine lines while shielding skin from environmental stressors.”

Other popular serum blends on the market from the likes of Viva la Vida and Versed only feature one or two active ingredient combinations and include tons of additives that are deemed harmful for the skin. This option from Naturium boasts five active ingredients and features a fully plant-based formula, giving users peace of mind health-wise and cost-wise.

While the likes of retinol and salicylic acid, in particular, can cause some skin types to break out or experience more-than-usual dryness, this serum seeks to avoid those concerns thanks to its plant-based formula.

As with Naturium’s entire product range, the Super Serum was created in the U.S. from natural botanicals and is cruelty-free, paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, fragrance-free, non-toxic, pH balanced and dermatologist-tested.

Since this pick is made of a blend of five active ingredients, Naturium recommends shaking the product well right before use. Once that’s done, apply one to two pea-sized drops in an even layer to the face, neck and chest, avoiding the eye area. Like any other treatment serum, this should be followed up with a moisturizer and completed with SPF in the morning. It can also be used at night.

Since skincare products don’t work the same for everyone, it is advised that a patch test is done prior to the first face application.

So, what are shoppers saying about this product? Reviewers say this serum, which is said to be perfect for dry, acne-prone, aging and combination skin, is the only one you’ll need. One shopper even admitted that it helped her significantly cut down her full routine.

“One serum to rule them all!” one five-star reviewer wrote. “There’s so many actives in there, I’ve thrown out half of my beauty cabinet and cut my skincare routine in half — and my skin looks better than ever.”

Another shopper admitted to even seeing results in a matter of days — an occurrence she said “rarely happens.”

“I struggle from adult hormonal cystic acne on my chin and I want to start using retinoids to help with fine lines,” she wrote. “This serum has already healed a pretty bad cystic pimple on my chin and has brightened some dark spots from acne.”

The same shopper also pointed out that, after spending “so much money” on skincare products, she is “so pleased” to find one that’s reasonably priced and actually works.
