This dishwasher cleaning hack is blowing people's minds: 'WTF'

Yes: According to a TikTok video making the rounds, most dishwashers have a filter that needs to be cleaned relatively often.

In the video, she shows viewers where to find the filter and demonstrates how to safely remove it for cleaning.
Some TikTok users have made side-by-side videos with McGlone’s original video showing their dirty filters next to her recently cleaned one.
In one video, user Bailey Rose displays a look of shock and horror as she takes her disgustingly dirty dishwasher filter out for the first time.

“Ummm, WTF. Tiktok has taught me more than school ever will…,” she captioned her video, which has more than 239,000 likes.
Commenters were equally shocked to learn about the dishwasher’s filter.
“I… I live in a house with 4 roommates and that dishwasher never gets a break…. I’m scared,” one person wrote.
“I rent an apartment there is no way in HELL that I’m checking mine,” another said.
“I have had mine for 20 years I AM NOT OPENING THAT,” a third person joked.
If you haven’t been cleaning your dishwasher filter, it’s high time you start! According to Maytag, dishwashers should be cleaned “periodically,” with the frequency depending on how often you use it and whether or not you rinse dishes before loading them.
