Multiple videos of people breaking the unmarked surface of the light pink mask have more than 450,000 likes on the platform and upwards of 3 million views.

When the product was first released in 2018, it sold out in a staggering 13 minutes — and virtually disappeared. The product was then on hiatus for a year until being brought back in December 2019 — and it has sold out again and again and again since its comeback.
Buyers appear to have little remorse over giving in to the product’s all-around viral hype. The recently re-released mask has over 67,000 loves on Sephora and countless 5-star reviews on Sephora, Tatcha and other selling platforms.
