Given the global health crisis, you may be celebrating Mother’s Day a lot differently this year. Thanks to stay-at-home orders and limited social interaction, visiting loved ones has become increasingly hard to do. But even so, people’s desire to show moms everywhere how appreciated they are on this special day cannot be taken away.
While you may not know what to get mom this Mother’s Day, some gifts may be more valuable in this uncertain time. As people adjust to life in quarantine, their immediate needs and desires have changed. For example, a report earlier this month found that sales for hair coloring products have increased 23 percent from the same time the previous year.
Additionally, Etsy has seen a shift in what customers are looking for on its site. The retailer known for its extensive collection of vintage, handmade and craft supplies released its findings on shopping trends among its customers.
In that April report, the company saw a 603 percent increase year-over-year in its searches containing “craft kit,” and a 591 percent increase year-over-year in searches containing “living room art.”
