Lady Gaga is leading a slam-packed cast of celebrities in a live-streamed concert coming to screens around the world — and it’s all for a good cause.
The event, announced by Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO), is called “One World: Together At Home.” Airing on April 18, it’s set to be a massive, socially distanced version of Live Aid and other charity mega-concerts.
And there’s plenty of star power to back up that comparison. The fundraiser will feature performances from Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish, Lizzo and of course Lady Gaga, who is curating the event.
.@LadyGaga, @Eltonofficial, @Lizzo, and more are standing in solidarity with us and the @WHO to support global response efforts to the coronavirus. Late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel are all set to host, plus there will be appearances from other non-musicians like David Beckham and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the U.N. Foundation’s response fund for the current global health crisis. The concert has already raised more than $35 million, according to a press release from Global Citizen.
How to watch ‘One World: Together At Home’
The event airs at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 18. Nearly every major U.S. network will air the fundraiser — including ABC, NBC and CBS — in addition to international channels like Britain’s BBC One and Canada’s Bell Media stations.
