4 feel-good movies to stream while social distancing

While we’re all cooped up inside and social distancing, there are only so many viral recipes you can try and articles of clothing you can knit before you start going stir crazy.

That’s where streaming services come in handy. Chances are you’ve already watched a few series or popular movies while in quarantine, but did you know it’s also good for you?

In fact, Dr. Lori Greene, a clinical psychologist in Westchester County, actually recommends watching Netflix to soothe your anxiety. She told In The Know that now is the time to make room for hobbies that may have seemed “frivolous” or “indulgent” in the past.

Instead of just watching “The Tiger King” — 100 percent certified not heartwarming content — a second time, settle down for yet another night in with a few of our coziest movie recommendations.

1. “Crazy Rich Asians” (Prime Video)

Based on the beloved novel of the same name, “Crazy Rich Asians” follows American professor Rachel Chu as she travels with her boyfriend to his best friend’s wedding, and is shocked to find his family is one of the richest in Singapore.

2. “The Parent Trap” (Disney+)

Polar opposites Annie Parker and Hallie James discover at summer camp that they are twins separated at birth, each raised by one of their biological parents. They devise a plan — a “parent trap” — to get the former couple back together and hijinks ensue.

3. “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You” (Netflix)

This sequel to “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” is every bit as lovable as the original. “P.S. I Still Love You” follows Lara Jean Song-Covey’s budding relationship with Peter Kavinsky as another recipient of one of her old love letters enters the picture.

4.”Booksmart” (Hulu)

The day before their graduation, two overachievers realize they should have had a little more fun in high school. “Booksmart” explores the highs and lows of their last hurrah as they try to have four years of fun in a single night.

Watching any of these uplifting movies is sure to distract you from whatever is going on in the world and leave you feeling better about life.
