Olive oil is a known kitchen essential that is widely present in households across the world. However, not all olive oils are made equally and Kosterina has pristinely proven this through the launch of its extensive line of olive oils and balsamic vinegars.

The brand was started in 2016 by female founder Katerina Mountanos, who describes herself as “a serial entrepreneur with a passion for family, living a healthy lifestyle, and, of course, all things Greek.” She explained that she and her husband, Kostas — who put the “Kos” in Kosterina — would enjoy extra virgin olive oil from their families’ olive trees in Southern Greece for years, but could “never find a proper substitute here in the States.”

This demand motivated her to create her own, and thus Kosterina was born, featuring a line of olive oils that are cold-pressed from early harvest olives in Southern Greece.

What this means is each selection has a very high polyphenol count which, in turn, leads to tremendous health benefits including high antioxidant levels, the ability to lower inflammation and reduce the risk of diseases including diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

In addition to its health-conscious formulation, Kosterina products are known for their rich taste and smells, making them perfect for sautéing, roasting vegetables, and drizzling over anything from pasta to popcorn or even yogurt.

As a frequent home cook and a devoted user of this brand’s Original Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I can firmly attest that it is one of the most luxe and smooth options I have ever used — and its under-$25 price point perfectly pairs with the less-is-more approach when using EVOO.

Shoppers can’t stop raving about the olive oil, in particular, with one five-star reviewer gushing that she uses it “for all my cooking because it’s so damn good.”

Another added that she puts Kosterina olive oil “on everything” and her kids even enjoy dipping their vegetables in it.
