Imma let you finish, but...

It's hard to believe it's been a decade since the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards. And with the 2019 VMA's around the corner, we're taking a look back at some of the most culturally significant moments from the show.

There was the Kanye and Taylor Swift fallout that started the years-long saga (still happening to this day). The then-32-year-old rapper famously walked on stage to interrupt Swift's acceptance of Best Female Video. It was a night in pop culture nobody will ever forget.

Lady Gaga won the award for Best New Artist, marking one of the first times the world got a taste of her art-pop performances.

From Pink and Shakira's identical Balmain dresses to Janet Jackson's tribute to her brother, the King of Pop, who died earlier that year, take a read through the gallery below for some of the most iconic moments from the 2009 VMAs.

The 2019 MTV VMAs will air live on Monday August 26 at 8/7c only on MTV. Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will be hosting the night and Missy Elliott is set to take home the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.
