Two Arizona chefs are competing against each other and six other chefs on Food Network's "Big Restaurant Bet" to win a $250,000 investment from Geoffrey Zakarian.

In the new series, Zakarian, a Food Network star and restaurateur, is looking to invest a quarter of a million dollars to help the next culinary rising star open their first restaurant. Through six one-hour episodes, eight chefs from around the country are given challenges meant to determine who is best prepared to open a debut restaurant successfully.

"Opening a restaurant takes unwavering determination, razor-sharp skill and unique culinary talent," Zakarian said in a release. "In 'Big Restaurant Bet,' viewers will follow the journey and dreams of eight talented chefs that are passionate about launching their own restaurant. It’s not just a once in a lifetime competition - it’s real life.

Host Geoffrey Zakarian with contestants Jesa Henneberry, Mariana Alvarado, Demetrius Baxter, Coby Farrow, Brett Vibber, Alicia Watson, Torrece Gregoire aka “Chef T”, and Leo Davila as seen on "Big Restaurant Bet," Season 1. The show filmed at the Luminary Hotel in downtown Fort Myers.

"In the end, I’m going to select one chef to get behind and help bring their concept to fruition. The stakes are high, and my own reputation is on the line as we find America's next great restaurateur.”

We won't give it away, but Baxter did post a bit of a spoiler on his Instagram the next day: "They found my Signature ‘Dashi Tuna Sashimi’ flawless and one of a kind!! You’ll have to catch me @bellyphx in Gilbert in about six weeks to try it yourselves -IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!"
