Throughout the first generation the Ford Mustang, a car that started off as a small light sports car with a large powerful engine, was ever evolving into a larger car more centered around luxury options.
This ever changing trend peaked in 1971 with a major redesign and would ultimately prove to be the end of the first generation Mustang. Albeit heavier and slower than ever before, the final three years of the original pony car still had a lot to offer.
