19 Shocking Movie Character Reveals That I Still Think About To This Day

1.In Now You See Me, when it was revealed that Dylan was behind everything:

Thaddeus, from his cell, says "you" to Dylan

I went into this movie not expecting it to even be good, so this plot twist straight-up blew my mind.

2.In Scream, when Billy and Stu were revealed to be the killers:

Billy licks the "blood" from his finger and says it's corn syrup. Sidney tries to run and runs into Stu, who says "surprise, sidney" into the voice changer

Stu was almost more surprising to me here. "Surprise, Sidney" is an iconic line that'll go down in horror film history.

3.In Iron Man, when Obediah was revealed to be the villain:

Raza: (pointing to injured face) "Compliments of Tony Stark" Obediah: "if you killed him when you were supposed to, you'd still have a face"

The dude was a bit sketch, but come on!!! Hiring a guy to kill the man who is like a son to you??? Wild.

4.In Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Mysterio was revealed to be Quentin Beck, a former Stark Industries employee without any superpowers:

Beck says "that wasn't so hard" as the bar cheers and he asks someone to get his stupid costume off. he then reveals they all worked for Stark

I love that this movie sort of reexamined the Stark legacy and how people are idolized after death. I truly was not expecting Mysterio to be the villain, so this was a really fun twist, and Jake Gyllenhaal played it so well and looked like he was having so much fun.

I mean, come on. This is probably the best movie character reveal of all time.

7.In Wonder Woman, when Sir Patrick was revealed to be Ares:

Diana says "Sir Patrick?" and he says, "You were right, Diana. They don't deserve our help"

I know some people didn't like this one, but I thought it was shocking, especially because the movie was setting up that there was no Ares after all and humans were just bad, lol.

8.In Frozen, when Hans revealed himself to be the villain:

Hans goes to kiss Anna then stops, saying, "Oh, Anna; if only there were someone out there who loved you"

12.In Spider-Man: Homecoming, when Vulture was revealed to be Liz's dad:

Peter looking shocked as Vulture opens the door

The Spider-Man franchise low-key pulls off some of the best Marvel twists, even if they only have ramifications for that one film and not the larger MCU. This was such a great one that wayyy increased the personal stakes for Peter and overall tension in the following scenes.

13.In Saw, when Jigsaw revealed himself to Adam as the apparent corpse they'd seen in the beginning:

I gotta hand it to Saw — the first movie's twist was pretty darn clever. It's super shocking and gives the movie a great, unique ending that still feels on par with the rest of the film.

18.In Harry Potter, when Snape revealed himself to be a Death Eater by killing Dumbledore:

Dumbledore says "please," then Snape kills him and he falls off the tower

Yes, this happened in the books first, so it wasn't a surprise to anyone who'd read them. Still, it was well done and shocking!!!

Warner Bros.

19.And finally, when Snape actually revealed himself to be a double agent/a good guy after all:

Dumbledore: "After all this time?" Snape: "always"

Ditto about the books, but I actually really loved the way they did this in the film (though I'm not a Snape fan).
