We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which queer TV characters have such main character energy, they deserve their own shows. Here are some of their responses: 🚨 Warning: Minor spoilers ahead! 🚨
"She and Steve should have a spinoff — their dynamic is so cute! I could watch hours of the two of them being buddies, talking about girls, and just hanging out."
—jswense
Netflix "I would love to see a show of him dealing with being a queer teen in the academy, because I think we can all agree that Reginald would not be supportive. Plus, he most definitely wouldn’t be allowed to embrace his feminine side. I would love to see more of his childhood and him growing into himself."

Netflix / Everett Collection 3. Eric Effiong from Sex Education "He is more interesting than any character on this show, TBH. From his relationship with his parents (which you would think would be stereotypically harsh, but it's not) to his friendship with Otis, I would love to see more of his backstory and his individual adventures."
—kaylaharrington
Netflix 4. Lucius Spriggs from Our Flag Means Death I (and I think the entire OFMD fandom) would like to know and see more about him. How and where did he grow up? How did he meet Stede and get to the Revenge? We all just want to see more of our beloved Lucius!"
—netanetaneta03
HBO Max 5. Josie Saltzman from Legacies "Josie Saltzman deserved her own show, or at least more screen time. Legacies did her and Hope Mikaelson wrong. Having a show solely centered on a pansexual character is something we really need."
—cecer246
The CW 6. Maxine Baker from Ginny & Georgia "Max is the chaotic lesbian representation the world deserves. I love how she's just a regular teen navigating relationships and friendships, having fun, and making mistakes. I want her and Sophie to get back together and have their own spinoff in New York so badly!"
—kellymartinez
Netflix 7. Jules Vaughn from Euphoria "Her solo episode on Euphoria only scratched the surface of the complex life that she lived. I would love to see how she lived with her mother both before and after she sent Jules to the horrible hospital. I want to see her live her best life in the city with her other queer friends. The town in the show is way too small for the big personality that is Jules Vaughn."
—kaylaharrington
HBO Max 8. Captain Raymond Holt and Kevin Cozner from Brooklyn Nine-Nine "Captain Holt and Kevin from Brooklyn Nine-Nine 100% deserved their own TV show! Even though they had their arguments, it was such a relief to see a healthy LGBTQ+ couple onscreen living a happy, fun, and fulfilling life. I’d LOVE to see Holt and Kevin as main characters in their own series, and bring the whole 99 back every once in a while (mainly for Halloween heist episodes)."
—kaylayandoli
FOX 9. Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine "I want to see how her business is going and how she is working through stuff after coming out to her family."
—gayhero
FOX 10. Toni Topaz from Riverdale Suggested by: shaunabraun
"One of the best things that happened to Riverdale was when Toni Topaz joined the show for Season 2 — she instantly became one of the most beloved characters (and one half of Choni — my personal favorite Riverdale ship!), and I couldn’t imagine the show without her. She’s such an interesting character, and I’d love to see a spinoff explore her backstory more and give her the screen time she deserves."
—jenniferabidor
The CW 11. Miles Hollingsworth III from Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: Next Class "Miles was one of the absolute best characters in the whole franchise, and I'm so glad he got a happy ending backpacking with his best friend and going to his dream university. I would love to see a spinoff of his adventures in London (hopefully with Lola!)."
—kellymartinez
Netflix 12. Zoë Rivas from Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: Next Class "It took a while for me to warm up to Zoë's character, but I absolutely loved her sexuality arc in Next Class . I'd love to see how she's doing without her mother post-graduation and how her and Rasha's relationship is going. She had such an interesting backstory and so much potential to explore!"
—kellymartinez
Netflix 13. Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood from Shadowhunters "I mean, we have a book spinoff series, but I want a show. Magnus and Alec deserve the world!"
—valerielapointemoi
Freeform 14. Lexa from The 100 "It would be awesome if she had a spinoff about how she rises to power. From the conclave, Costia, and the wars she had before meeting the delinquents, etc."
—ytaengu
The CW 15. Titus Andromedon from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt "I fast forward through any scenes or plot lines involving Kimmy Schmidt, the main character, just to watch Titus. And I'm sure I'm not the only one!"
—jamiemart
Netflix / Courtesy Everett Collection "I'm not talking about the mess that was The Perfectionists . I'm talking about an Emison spinoff where they're happy and living the life they deserve together. I'd love to see their adventures with their family!"
—kellymartinez
Eric Mccandless / ABC Family/Courtesy Everett Collection 17. Liam Walker from Walker "He's the best part of the CW reboot. I’d love to see a show about an aspiring baby DA dealing with his big brother and family drama while being openly gay in Texas of all places."
—aislincross
The CW "The last couple of seasons of Elite did their relationship so dirty, but I would have loved it if Omar had left with Ander at the end of Season 4 instead of Guzmán. We could have had a whole spinoff about their backpacking adventures!"
—kellymartinez
Netflix 19. And finally, Nadia Zhabin from Shadow and Bone "She deserves more screen time. This show has done a fabulous job of fixing the books’ mistakes so far, so why shouldn’t they give Nadia a three-dimensional personality while they’re at it? Plus, Black queer representation is not very present in fantasy books, so I hope they don’t skim over or omit her arc with Tamar."
