Need some new Nintendo Switch games? The holiday season is a great time to save on new video game purchases. But the only better deal than “cheap” is free. From December 1st through the 24th, indie game developer No Gravity Games is hosting an advent calendar-style giveaway. You can score 19 free Nintendo Switch games throughout the month.

On top of that, you can grab a free digital download code for Pirates: All Aboard by signing up for the No Gravity Games newsletter. You don’t need to own Pirates: All Aboard to participate in the advent calendar event. But downloading it is one of several ways to gain access to the rest of the holiday giveaway. All told, you get 19 free Nintendo Switch for the low, low cost of nothing.

This holiday promotion is formatted just like the popular QubicGames “10 Free Games in 10 Days” event from 2019. That means we can expect to see a diverse selection of clever indie Nintendo Switch games throughout the month. Most of the games from No Gravity Games’ catalog costs around $10 at full price. This giveaway is a low-stakes opportunity to check out some lesser-known titles.

Getting the Other 18 Free Nintendo Switch Games

To qualify for the holiday giveaway, you need to have at least one No Gravity Games title in the game collection tied to your Nintendo Switch account. If you don’t have one already downloaded, sign up for the No Gravity Games email newsletter to access the free download code for Pirates: All Aboard.

Once that’s done, be sure to check the giveaway page on the No Gravity Games site. There, you can download each new game as it becomes available. If you start out by signing up for the newsletter, having Pirates: All Aboard downloaded will give you access to Creepy Tale. From that point on, you must have the previous day’s game to maintain your free download chain. As long as you have the previous day’s Nintendo Switch game, you will be eligible to download the next.

If it helps to mark your calendar, the developer has made it easy for you. New downloads will drop every weekday up until Christmas Eve. No Gravity Games will give you the entire weekend to download any of the four games that unlock on a Friday.

Missed a day? Don’t sweat it. You can hop back on and restart your chain by heading to the eShop and purchasing whichever game came before the one that is currently free to download. It might not be completely free, but it helps that most of the No Gravity Games catalog is marked down by 50% to 80% during this promotional period. Once you’ve done that, you can continue to download free games as if you’d never stopped.

Games Included in the No Gravity Games Giveaway

Much like a sealed advent calendar full of mysterious confections, No Gravity Games isn’t going to just tell you which games you’re going to get. And there’s no way to punch out all of the chocolates and eat them at once. You’ll just have to check back daily. As new titles are announced by the publisher, we will update this list.
