18 housing units proposed for Market Street site in Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY - A plan to add 18 housing units on Market Street is scheduled to be heard by the Zoning Board of Adjustment next week.

A developer, Market 215 LLC, is looking to create a multifamily residential building with 18 units on property at 215 Market St. in a residential zone where the proposed multifamily use is not permitted, according to a public notice.

The application is scheduled to be heard 7 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 260 High St. Perth Amboy.

The applicant is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval, a use variance, variances for the maximum permitted density per acre and per building, and maximum building height, according to the public notice.

Variances also are being sought for minimum gross floor area per dwelling unit, maximum number of stories and minimum number of parking spaces, as well as if necessary variances for minimum front yard setback, minimum side yard setback, minimum rear yard setback, maximum lot coverage, maximum impervious coverage and maximum distance between buildings, according to the public notice.

A copy of the plans are available for review at Perth Amboy City Hall, 260 High St.
