16 area players named to Division IV and V All-Ohio football teams

The Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association announced its picks for the Division IV and V All-Ohio football teams on Tuesday, and 16 players from around the area were recognized.

Unioto's Newton Hoops was the only player in either division that garnered First Team recognition. Hoops capped off his junior campaign with 1,800 passing yards and a Scioto Valley Conference-best 24 touchdown passes on a 65.7% pass completion rating. He averaged 15.4 yards per completion and was only intercepted 10 times through 11 games.

Zane Trace had two players named to the All-Ohio Division V Second Team. Daniel Barnhart was named to the Second Team Offense after accumulating a conference-leading 1,500 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns through 12 games. Lane Stewart earned Second Team Defense honors after picking up 57 total tackles and 7.5 sacks in his senior season.

Zane Brownfield from Piketon was named to the All-Ohio Third Team Defense in Division V. The junior picked up 99 total tackles this season, including five tackles for loss. Brownfield also posted a sack, an interception and forced two fumbles throughout the season.
