President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the bill that lowers military conscription age in Ukraine from 27 to 25 years into law on April 2, according to the Ukrainian parliament’s website.

The bill had been on the president’s desk for 10 months. The Cabinet submitted it to parliament on May 5, 2023. On May 30, the bill passed a floor vote, with 304 MPs voting in favor.

In November 2023, Bloomberg reported that Zelenskyy had not yet signed the bill despite "pressure from the military."
