Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, have discussed the situation on the front in Ukraine and the needs of the Ukrainian military, including additional air defence capabilities.

Background:
Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, has stressed that Germany has no concerns over the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy even though Ukraine cannot hold presidential elections under martial law.
A German initiative to strengthen Ukraine's air defence has raised almost a billion euros.
Baerbock said she has had to cancel her visit to the city of Kharkiv planned within her trip to Ukraine on 21 May due to the current security situation.
