'Zelda: Breath of the Wild' speedrun record down to 54 minutes

Here's someone completing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in less than an hour. I'm 80 hours in and just discovered a town I'd never seen before yesterday. FML.

The 54:05 completion time from streamer Venick is the latest reported speedrun record for Breath of the Wild, supplanting a 58:01 finish that had been set hours earlier by MrGymnast86. Venick admits that his own "not terrible run" still leaves room for improvement.

It's worth noting that Venick shaved time off his playthrough using a handful of tricks, documented in the YouTube description. Playing the Wii U version saves 31 seconds on load times versus the Switch; switching the language to German saves another 10 seconds; and perhaps most controversially, using the "Link Rider" amiibo to summon Epona — a legendary horse — saves another 40-50 seconds.

MrGymnast completed his 58:01 runthrough on Wii U as well (English-language version), but he didn't use any amiibo.

Spoilers ahead, obviously.
