Yuba County structure fire sends two to hospital

Apr. 18—A structure fire on Wednesday night in the 8000 block of Hallwood Boulevard sent two people to the hospital, Linda Fire Chief Kyle Heggstrom told the Appeal.

Considered a "total loss," Heggstrom said the structure, a mobile home, was "fully involved with multiple cars" also catching on fire. According to initial reports of the blaze, there was one occupant of the home.

Heggstrom said the occupant was outside of the structure when fire department personnel arrived. Another individual at the scene also was burned with officials still "trying to determine their involvement."

The pair, a female with minor injuries and a male with moderate injuries, were transported to Adventist Health/Rideout Hospital for treatment. Heggstrom said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"The fire was extinguished with approximately 6,000 gallons of water and was a total loss," Heggstrom said in an email. "Mutual aid was provided by Yuba City Fire, Linda Fire, And Cal Fire Loma Rica."

Heggstrom said firefighters worked the fire for about two-and-a-half hours.
