Joe Sugg has just been unveiled as the latest contestant confirmed to be joining this season of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 26-year-old will be joining Katie Piper, Faye Tozer and Danny John-Jules as they don glitter and spandex in hopes of cha-cha-ing their way to the final.

YouTuber Joe is best known as the brother of Zoella, who is also a famous YouTuber.

But what else do we know about the soon-to-be Strictly contestant? Here's everything you need to know:

How did Joe get into YouTube?

In his pre-vlogging days, Joe worked as a roof thatcher, an occupation which inspired his YouTube username, 'ThatcherJoe.'

He began YouTube in 2011, having watched his sister Zoe, better known as Zoella, shoot to fame on the video-sharing platform.

He said of his superstar sister: "She was starting to get bigger on YouTube and she showed me a lot of the male YouTubers, like Alfie [Deyes], Marcus [Butler], Jim [Chapman], and I'd watch them and think 'This is the sort of stuff I can do, and have been doing throughout my childhood'."

He currently has three YouTube channels, which often feature pranks, games and impressions.

On his main channel, he has an incredible 8.2 million followers and celebrated his success with a win at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards for Best British Vlogger.

What else has he done?

Joe has spoken about the importance of branching out from YouTube, and he's certainly done well for himself.

He's penned a series of best-selling graphic novels and has also tried his hand at acting, appearing in the 2015 film Joe and Casper Hit the Road with fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee and bagged a voiceover cameo in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge out of Water.

What has he said about Strictly?

Joe was revealed as a Strictly contestant on Scott Mills' Breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 on Tuesday 14.

Speaking about appearing on the show, he said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year!

“Not going to lie, I’m very nervous about it, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about I guess.

“Funnily enough I’m writing this statement whilst on the way to surprise my grandparents with the news.

“They are going to be so happy which will definitely make up for any embarrassment or cringe caused by my questionable rhythm.”
