YouTube Now Has Dozens of Free Movies Including “Uptown Girls” and “Sleepover”

I know what I'm doing all winter.

If you've already made your way through every holiday movie on Netflix (FYI: The Princess Switch is a must-watch), not to fear: YouTube has got you covered with an entirely new slew of films to last you through winter break and beyond. And the best part? You can watch them completely free of charge.

The streaming service is upping the ante on its usual offerings of makeup tutorials and TV clips with a batch of full-length, Hollywood feature films, which you can tune into for $0 — as long as you don't mind sitting through a few commercials. According to Ad Age, YouTube quietly introduced movies into its "free to watch" service in October, but it's just now starting to get buzz. It's unclear how frequently ads will play throughout a given movie, but it seems to be a small price to pay (because, ya know, $0) compared to the cost of your usual movie streaming service subscription.

While the library doesn't quite rival that of Netflix, Hulu or Amazon — yet — it does have plenty of movies that you'll be more than excited to press "play" on. Some top picks? Uptown Girls, Sleepover, Legally Blonde, Agent Cody Banks, and Terminator. And, it seems, the offerings could expand in the future.

"We saw this opportunity based on user demand, beyond just offering paid movies. Can we do ad-supported movies, free to the user?" says Rohit Dhawan, director of product management at YouTube, told Ad Age. "It also presents a nice opportunity for advertisers."

Needless to say, we know how we'll be spending every night from now until the weather gets warm. Check out the full list over at YouTube.
