Youth Council of Portage Resale Center gifts $9,500 to Ottawa County nonprofits

The Youth Council of the Portage Resale Center in Port Clinton recently completed their activities for the 2023–2024 school year with a gifting presentation at the Sutton Center. The 12 high school members of the Youth Council distributed $9,500 in Wish List grants to 21 Ottawa County nonprofits.

During the year, the students visited 16 nonprofits throughout the county to learn how they serve the community. They also performed some tasks to help them and learned how they fund their activities.

Youth Council consists of one senior and one junior from each of the Ottawa County high schools. These students are Danbury: Maria Maringer and Park Wilhite; Genoa: Courtney Chapinski and Jaylin Smith; Oak Harbor: Lainey Pollauf and Brayden Wallace; Port Clinton: Grace Navarro and Sam Roberts; and Woodmore: Madi Hammer and Justin Kiger.
