You're Not Prepared for This Video Exposing Everything Wrong With 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

From Esquire

The men and women who made the above 19-minute video ripping apart Star Wars: The Force Awakens are some truly brave individuals. Maybe they know exactly what they're getting into and are just trolling the legions of fans prepared to take up arms against many of these alleged "things wrong with Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Or maybe the creators of this video are completely unsuspecting, and believe they're doing some sort of service to world by smearing red ink all over the most beloved movie of the decade.

They're certainly not wrong to raise issue with a few of these problems with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Some of these are just blatant errors, like Captain Phasma's random appearance in the early scene with Finn, or hiring the guys from The Raid 2 for a few lines in the movie, or Captain Phasma's stupid plot overall. But some of these are known constants in the Star Wars universe: Stormtroopers have horrible aim, and even more horrible battle tactics. Fate plays a big role, and plot points like the Millennium Falcon being on Jakku at the same time Finn and Rey end up together is just part of Star Wars storytelling. And you can't really discredit the film for keeping its main character alive even though it doesn't make much logical sense. I'm all for holding a film that made $2.066 billion at the box office to a higher standard, but there needs to come a point when we can sit back and just enjoy the fantasy that is Hollywood. Plus we can all agree that The Force Awakens is in a completely different league than the prequels? Meanwhile, The Martian also had a ton wrong with it, but Neil deGrasse Tyson still loved it.
