The event began on the lakefront veranda with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and acoustic music by the Oxbridge Rock and Contemporary Music Ensemble.

After cocktails, guests moved to the dinner tent for brief remarks from Head of School Ralph Maurer and Oxbridge faculty member Erol Putigna, who served as master of ceremonies.

The evening continued with dinner, a live auction conducted by Christie's International Deputy Chairman Brett Sherlock; remarks from alumni guest speaker ― and future astronaut ― Riley Harrison, Class of 2015; a Call to the Heart, and dancing until the cellphones started ringing with students calling to tell their parents that, Saturday night or not, it was time to dance their butts home.

More than 200 people attended the soiree, which raised $1 million.

Proceeds will help Oxbridge Academy support important initiatives, programming, financial aid and more.
