Young South Carolina wide receiver no longer with the team

South Carolina no longer has the services of a young wide receiver.

Absent from the team roster as of Tuesday is redshirt freshman pass catcher Kelton Henderson, a three-star recruit from Florida in the Gamecocks’ 2023 recruiting class who originally joined the roster as an Under Armour All-American.

Henderson, a 6-foot, 186-pounder, was on South Carolina spring roster handed out a week ago, but a South Carolina spokesperson confirmed to The State that he is no longer on the team.

Henderson was limited for much of last summer and fall with a leg injury and only appeared in two games for South Carolina — at Missouri and at Texas A&M — but didn’t record any stats.

Now without Henderson, South Carolina’s wide receiver room is down to just a dozen guys, including a pair — CJ Adams and Elijah Caldwell — from the 2023 class.
